Home Ownership

This workshop is available to tenants and first time homebuyers.

A workshop that focuses on budgeting, credit, lending, inspections, repair and maintenance, and the search for a home. Upon completion of the workshop, a Home Ownership Certificate is awarded to the potential home buyer and can be presented to a bank/financial institution at time of mortgage loan application.

Renters Rights and Services

This workshop is available to tenants.

Basic tenant rights, how to communicate with your landlord, common landlord requirements, understanding lease agreements and affordable housing options are discussed in this workshop.

Fair Housing

This workshop is available to everyone.

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, financing of dwellings, and other housing related transactions based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status and disability. Attend and learn about The Act. Literature is available to all attendees.

Financial Education

This workshop is available to everyone.

Planning, saving, and wise purchases are discussed in the workshop along with budgets, credit, and debt reduction.

Entrepreneurship

This workshop is available to everyone.

A great business idea needs a strategic plan that not only includes income and expenses, but ways to minimize risk. Topics covered include how to develop a plan, the value of a mentor or sponsor, the importance of strong financial controls, and more.

Job Readiness

This workshop is available to everyone.

Goals and interests are explored. Resume preparation, communication skills, interview dos and don’ts, an “elevator speech”, networking, role-playing and many other topics are discussed.

Savings and Investing

This workshop is available to everyone.

Saving and investing are often thought of as the same but have very different objectives. The workshop reviews the differences and value each play in a positive financial future.
