| 1. Who are you affiliated
with? What network or denomination do you belong to?
It has been the vision of Wave of Life from its inception to
avoid compartmentalizing and labeling to be able to minister effectively
to the Body of Christ at large. The individual instructors
in Wave of Life/ESS, come from diverse theological backgrounds,
and have relationships across a very wide spectrum of the Body
of Christ.
We believe this is a strength and asset, not a limitation.
Beyond the issues listed in our
articles of faith, our goal is to expand minds and
hearts; to impart the ability to critically think and analyze,
not necessarily dogmatize any particular sub-theme or theological
point of view. We view disagreement and dialogue as healthy to
developing critical thinking, discernment, spiritual growth, and
maturity. It is an act of humility to understand someone else’s
point of view, with which you may not agree, and to relate to
them in Christ anyway.
Our vision for education is not to necessarily tell you what
you must believe (beyond core issues of Christian orthodoxy) but
to present perspectives and points of view, and let individuals
develop their own convictions and walk with the Lord in the context
of their own faith communities.
2. Who are you accountable to?
Wave of Life, the parent organization, is supervised by a board
of directors. In addition, Wave of Life/ESS has an additional
board of directors. In terms of personal issues of ethics and
accountability,
the Brocks and the
Crosbys have a network of relationships of accountability
to seasoned and experienced ministers around the world. Interested
individuals may refer to Dr. Crosby’s personal webpage,
www.stevecrosby.com,
for specific accountability references.
3. Do you have a central campus?
We do not have a central campus. This helps keep our costs down.
Our standard delivery format is to bring instructors to a hosting
facility/ministry/agency. However, on occasion, Wave of Life will
sponsor and host our own regional seminars and classes and these
events will be posted on both web pages www.waveoflife.com
(overseeing ministry) and www.waveoflife.org
(schools and seminars).
4. Will we have text books and tests?
It is up to the discretion of individual instructors as to how
they want to conduct their classes. We desire to facilitate individual
instructor’s styles, temperaments, and gift mixes, to hopefully
draw the best “divine download” possible out of them,
not necessarily constrain them with certain mandates of form.
You may, or may not, have required reading, writing, and or tests.
Requirements for individuals participating in the Wave of Life
ministry certificate or ordination track are more stringent. Candidates
for ministry certification and/or ordination will be required
to complete tests and/or written assignments or to otherwise demonstrate
proficiency and competency in each course. All certificate/ordination
candidates will work with the Director at the time of enrollment
to develop a “pre-qualified” and “pre-approved”
strategy for completing each course satisfactorily.
5. Is Wave of Life a local church?
No. Each instructor has his/her own local church affiliations.
6. Is Wave of Life a “network” of Churches?
No. It is our desire to build relationally and interpersonally,
not organizationally and structurally.
